The Sales to Active Ratio is at 57% for East Van townhouses, which is quite a bit higher than the 32% average we saw since August, but quite bit lower than the average for the first half of the year. Inventory in December was at its lowest number since April, so I imagine we’ll see an increase in the number of townhouses on the market, though this market is more varied than the others.
This is a market to watch – the new first time home Buyer’s loan restricts purchases to under $750k, so we might see some Buyers who previously couldn’t afford a townhouse make the jump into the lower end part of the market, whereas Buyers who are struggling to get into the detached market will settle in the higher end part of this market.
