Commercial Drive is a neighbourhood located to the East of downtown Vancouver. The boundaries of Commercial Drive are Venables to the north, E 22nd Ave to the south, Clark Dr. to the west, and Nanaimo St. to the east.
Cheap eats (healthy, unhealthy, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, they have it all!), vintage clothing boutiques, and lots of coffee shops and breweries. The Drive is a quirky, vibrant hood composed of equal parts Italians, hippies, young families and young professionals. Grandview, also encompassing Commercial Drive, has more affordable options for 1 and 2 bedroom condos and quaint houses (on smaller lots) in Vancouver. As usual, the closer you are to the restaurants and shops on vibrant Commercial Drive, and the Skytrain station at Broadway and Commercial, the higher the price of the condo. Expect older, low rise buildings in this area, though there have been a couple great new buildings in recent years, There’s quite the community vibe in Grandview-Commercial Drive, with a great community centre just off the Drive (Britannia).
The lower price range in the Grandview-Commercial Drive area sees condos and apartments scattered in most areas of this East Van neighbourhood, with a majority of them being west of Commercial Drive. Townhouses and hald duplexes can also be found in Grandview-Commercial Drive, and single family houses are plentiful, especially east of Commercial Drive. These houses often have quite a bit of character elements and are often smaller than many houses in Vancouver West, often thanks to smaller lots sizes.
You’ll have easy access to Hastings-Sunrise, Downtown, Gastown, Mount Pleasant, Trout Lake and more thanks to the plentiful bus routes, the Skytrain Station (connecting to two routes), bike paths and driver routes.
